On 11 July 2025, the directors of the National Research Institute of Animal Production –Tomasz Jacek, Ph.D. Eng. and Tomasz Szanser, M.Sc. – paid a working visit to the Experimental Station in Kołuda Wielka. They were accompanied by the president of the Station, Kamila Kłos, Ph.D. Eng. and her deputy, Łukasz Głowacki, M.Sc. Eng.

During the visit, the delegation toured the station’s key facilities – breeding halls, pastures, and agricultural facilities. They were given a detailed overview of the scientific and experimental activities currently being carried out, including the breeding of White Kołuda geese®, Polish Merino sheep and Kołuda sheep.

The meeting aimed to analyse the current state of the facility’s operations – its infrastructure and resources – and to discuss prospects for further development. Existing initiatives were presented, mainly concerning the breeding of native breeds and the genetic development of herds, as well as future activities: investments in infrastructure, new research projects, expansion of services, and industry cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to:
• increasing the efficiency of animal and plant production on the basis of 1,049 ha of agricultural land,
• the potential for the development of a research and implementation line, including demonstration and educational programmes,
• plans for infrastructure – breeding buildings, storehouses, and research support equipment.

The directors and management of the Station emphasized the importance of maintaining close cooperation between the Experimental Station and the central unit in Balice, in both the scientific and practical areas. The meeting will result in the development of a detailed set of recommendations and a schedule of activities for the coming months.
