On 22 July 2025, the grand opening of the exhibition “Native Breeds of Farm Animals” took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The event was jointly inaugurated by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski, and the Director of the National Research Institute of Animal Production, Tomasz Jacek, Ph.D. Eng.
The ceremony was attended by, among others, the Director of the Department of Innovation, Digitization and Knowledge Transfer at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Marcin Tomaszewski, and the Chief Veterinary Officer, Krzysztof Jażdżewski, DVM.
The exhibition presented the richness of Polish native breeds – from Polish Red cattle, through Olkuska sheep, to Hucul horses. These are not only part of our cultural heritage, but also an extremely valuable genetic resource, which is crucial for the sustainable development of agriculture.
During the inauguration, Minister Siekierski emphasized the importance of protecting native animal breeds as an essential element of biological security and the preservation of genetic diversity.
The exhibition was prepared as part of the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the National Research Institute of Animal Production.
