On 20 June 2023, an event in the series “Field Days of the National Food Group – Kruszwica Sugar Factory” was held in Kołuda Wielka, co-organized by the National Research Institute of Animal Production Experimental Station Kołuda Wielka. “Field Days” are a celebration of sugar beet growers and employees of Krajowa Grupa Spożywcza S.A. – the main organizer of the event, and provide an opportunity to exchange experience and benefit from expert advice. During the events, experimental plots with different varieties of sugar beet are presented and training sessions are held, during which growers exchange their experiences and knowledge of plant cultivation. Participants have the opportunity to listen to lectures that cover agrotechnological issues of sugar beet cultivation. In addition, during the events it is possible to talk to representatives and exhibitors from seed and fertilizer companies or agricultural machinery manufacturers. The “Field Days” also feature performances by local artistic groups.
The Kujawsko-Pomorski Voivode Mikołaj Bogdanowicz and the President of the Management Board of Krajowa Grupa Spożywcza S.A. Marek Zagórski presented the distinguished growers with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development’s “Distinguished Service to Agriculture” decoration.
