Awards for achievements in implementing progress in agriculture

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Czesław Siekierski, awarded distinctions for achievements in the implementation of progress in agriculture, rural development, agricultural markets and fisheries. Among the awardees was the National Research Institute of Animal Production, which received a distinction for innovative research in zootechnics and animal breeding.

The research team of the National Research Institute of Animal Production, consisting of:

– Ewa Sosin, PhD Eng.

– Anna Koseniuk, PhD Eng.

– Agnieszka Szumiec, PhD Eng.

– Piotr Krzyścin, PhD Eng.

– Prof. Katarzyna Ropka-Molik, PhD

received an award for a project concerning the development and implementation of modern molecular DNA methods enabling unambiguous breed and species identification of cattle and their products using the example of the native Polish Red-and-White breed.

The second award went to a research team consisting of:

–  Monika Trzcińska, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP

–  Magdalena Bryła, PhD

for the project “From semen to piglets”, in which a complex technology was developed to introduce cryopreserved boar semen into insemination practice in agriculture.

The awards granted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development underline the importance of research conducted at the National Research Institute of Animal Production, which has a real impact on the development of animal breeding and the improvement of the efficiency and quality of agricultural production.
