- Grzegorz Smołucha, PhD,
- Anna Koseniuk, PhD,
- Anna Radko, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP,
representing the Department of Animal Molecular Biology of the National Research Institute of Animal Production, for a project concerning the implementation of routine identification and verification of the origin of pigs in the national breeding system based on the analysis of microsatellite DNA (STR) polymorphism.
During the ceremony, the Institute was represented by the Director of the National Research Institute of Animal Production and the authors of the project: Grzegorz Smołucha, PhD, and Anna Koseniuk, PhD.
The Director of the Institute emphasized the importance of the awards for the further development of scientific research in Polish zootechnics:
“This distinction shows that the innovative solutions developed at the National Research Institute of Animal Production are becoming the standard for modern breeding. Thanks to the use of advanced DNA analysis, we are strengthening the quality and reliability of national breeding programmes. I congratulate our scientists and thank them for their consistency, professionalism, and passion with which they create solutions that increase the reliability of animal origin. This is proof that we are consistently building the foundations of modern, responsible agriculture” – emphasized Tomasz Jacek, PhD Eng.
The award highlights the importance of the research conducted at the National Research Institute of Animal Production, which effectively supports the development of modern breeding methods, increases the transparency of animal origin, and strengthens the quality of the national breeding system.
