On 21 March 2025, during a ceremonial award gala of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Research Institute of Animal Production was honoured for its achievements in zootechnics and animal breeding research. On behalf of the Institute, the prizes were received by the distinguished scientists, who were personally congratulated by Tomasz Jacek, PhD Eng., Director of NRIAP.
Prizes were awarded to two research teams. The first, headed by Anna Radko, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP, was recognized for a project concerning the development of modern molecular DNA methods for the breed and species identification of cattle, which is of particular importance for the conservation of the native Polish Red-and-White breed. The second team, led by Monika Trzcińska, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP, won recognition for the project “From semen to piglets”, which introduces an innovative method of using cryopreserved boar semen in insemination practice. The director of the Institute emphasized the importance of the awards for the further development of scientific research in Polish zootechnics:
– “This award is proof that Polish science in animal breeding is at a world-class level. I congratulate our scientists and thank them for their passion and contribution to the development of agriculture and breeding. Their work is a step towards even more efficient and sustainable agricultural production”, says Tomasz Jacek, PhD Eng.
The awards granted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development emphasize the important role of research conducted at the National Research Institute of Animal Production and its impact on the development of Polish agriculture.
