On 15 December 2025, the 230th meeting of the Scientific Council of the National Research Institute of Animal Production was held in Balice, inaugurating the Council’s activities for the 2025–2029 term.
During the meeting, nomination acts were presented to the members of the Scientific Council. The nominations for persons appointed by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development were presented by Adam Nowak, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, while letters of congratulations for members elected in the elections were presented by the Director of the Institute, Tomasz Jacek, PhD Eng.
The Chair of the Election Committee, Anna Drabik, MSc Eng., presented a report on the elections to the Scientific Council of the National Research Institute of Animal Production for the 2025–2029 term.
The Scientific Council constituted itself by electing its authorities. Prof. Eugeniusz Grela, PhD, was elected Chairman of the Scientific Council, and Prof. Dorota Kowalska, PhD, and Grzegorz Żak, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP, were elected Vice-Chairmen.
The following committees of the Scientific Council were appointed:
- Committee for the Development of Scientific Staff: Anna Arczewska-Włosek, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP; Prof. Paweł Bielański, PhD; Aldona Kawęcka, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP; Prof. Dorota Kowalska, PhD; Katarzyna Połtowicz, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP; Iwona Radkowska, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP; Katarzyna Ropka-Molik, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP; Sylwester Świątkiewicz, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP; Mirosław Tyra, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP.
- Research Projects Committee: Prof. Małgorzata Świątkiewicz, PhD; Magdalena Szyndler-Nędza, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP; Tomasz Ząbek, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP.
During the meeting, doctoral diplomas were ceremoniously awarded and doctoral oaths were taken from: Katarzyna Kowalska, PhD Eng., Zuzanna Siudak, PhD Eng., Alicja Wierzbicka, PhD Eng., Dariusz Pomykała, PhD Eng., and Rafał Zwierzyński, PhD Eng.
In addition, the Scientific Council awarded the degree of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences in the discipline of animal husbandry and fisheries to Kinga Szczepanik, MSc Eng.
The Scientific Council gave a positive opinion on the report on the activities of the Doctoral School for the academic year 2024/2025, the financial plan of the National Research Institute of Animal Production for 2026, the Research Plan of the National Research Institute of Animal Production for 2026, and the activities of the editorial board of the Annals of Animal Science journal in 2024.
