On 28 October 2025, a scientific conference entitled “The possibilities for applying the research results of the National Research Institute of Animal Production in sustainable animal production” was held at the headquarters of the National Research Institute of Animal Production in Balice.
The event was organized as part of a project implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and its main objective was to present the current results of research conducted at the Institute and to present practical recommendations for their implementation on farms.
The conference was attended by representatives of Agricultural Advisory Centres, the Agricultural Advisory Centre in Radom, and teachers from the Prof. Władysław Szafer Agricultural Education Centre School Complex in Rzemień. The presence of specialists from various agricultural backgrounds created an excellent space for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and ideas related to the implementation of innovations in animal production.
During the meeting, a wide range of scientific research combining modern technologies, animal welfare, and environmental aspects was presented.
The following research topics were presented during the conference:
• Molecular genetics as a tool to support breeders – research offer of the Department of Molecular Genetics – Anna Koseniuk, PhD Eng.
• Cattle in the Digital Age: Single-step evaluation, AI, and Big Data in breeding – Dawid Słomian, MSc Eng.
• The use of herbs and other antimicrobial preparations in the prevention of livestock diseases – Agata Szewczyk, PhD Eng.

• To keep the wolf fed and the sheep alive – the problem of predator attacks on flocks of native sheep breeds in Poland – Marta Pasternak-Chorosz, PhD Eng.
The conference in Balice confirmed the importance of cooperation between the scientific community and agricultural practitioners. The research presented shows that modern technological, genetic, and nutritional solutions can effectively support the development of sustainable animal production while respecting animal welfare and protecting the environment.
