On 27 June 2025, our Institute hosted participants of an informal meeting of directors for strategic plans of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of EU member states, as part of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council.
The event included a lecture given by Monika Leleń, a professional beekeeper and queen bee breeder. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about the role of beekeeping in sustainable agriculture and visit the apiary operating on the Institute’s premises. The visit to Balice was the culmination of a three-day meeting held on 25–27 June 2025 in Kraków as part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting was attended by representatives of the ministries of agriculture of EU member states responsible for implementing national CAP strategic plans. Discussions focused, among other things, on the simplifications proposed by the European Commission in May 2025, as well as the challenges facing European agriculture in the context of climate change, food security, and growing social expectations for sustainable development.
