On 31 January this year, a meeting was held with Dr Czesław Siekierski, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, who accepted the invitation in order to discuss, together with the Institute’s management, the management of the Institute’s experimental stations and the staff of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, key issues concerning the functioning of the National Research Institute of Animal Production, its future and further cooperation with the Ministry. The meeting proceeded according to schedule.

After the official welcome by the Minister, the floor was taken by the Director of the Institute, Tomasz Jacek, PhD Eng., who presented the topic of the discussions, including the Institute’s historical features, current situation and challenges. This was followed by the Deputy Director for Infrastructure, Tomasz Szanser, who presented the prospects and plans for development, emphasizing the need for stable support from the Ministry.

Minister Siekierski once again confirmed that the cooperation between the Institute and the Ministry is very good, the relations are based on dialogue and mutual understanding, which allows for consulting on key issues and taking joint actions for the benefit of Polish zootechnics. The Minister assured that, as before, he would support the Institute’s initiatives and strive to ensure the best possible operating conditions.

“However, we cannot hide the fact that a difficult year lies ahead. The challenges facing the Institute and its subordinate Experimental Stations require determination, work and consistency in action from all of us. Despite the declared support, the situation in the agricultural sector is not easy, and we have to be ready for various scenarios. We thank the Minister for his visit and for the constructive discussion. We hope that the declarations of support will translate into concrete solutions, which will allow us to carry out our mission effectively”, commented Tomasz Jacek, PhD Eng., director of the Institute and organizer of today’s meeting.
