On 5 March 2024, a conference entitled “Quo Vadis Breeder?” was organized at the Palace in Pawłowice, attended by more than 200 cattle breeders and producers from the southern Wielkopolska region. The organizers of the conference were:
- Wielkopolska Centre for Animal Breeding and Reproduction (WCABR) in Poznań,
- National Research Institute of Animal Production Experimental Station Pawłowice.
The invited guests, lecturers and conference participants were welcomed by Andrzej Baehr, President of WCABR. The lecture sections began with Dr Katarzyna Darul from the WCABR cattle breeding department, who gave a presentation entitled “Wielkopolska Centre for Animal Breeding and Reproduction – your partner in cattle breeding”. The subject of organizing low-cost calf rearing was discussed by Paweł Górka, Ph.D., Professor at the Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Kraków. The next speaker was Prof. Zygmunt Kowalski, Ph.D. of the Hugo Kołłątaj University of Agriculture in Kraków, who presented a lecture on “How to feed cows profitably”. The last speaker was Tomasz Jankowiak, VS, President of the Polish Mastitis Association, discussing precision agriculture and current trends in veterinary medicine. At the end of the conference, a prize draw was held, whose sponsors were the Conference Partners.
