On 26 September 2024, the National Research Institute of Animal Production hosted a delegation of representatives of the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) from Helsinki.
The guests were officially welcomed by Prof. Małgorzata Świątkiewicz, Ph.D. together with the Deputy Director for Science, Prof. Sylwester Świątkiewicz, Ph.D., who also provided general information on the Institute’s activities. In turn, Krzysztof Paleczny from the Team for Cooperation with Practice, Knowledge Transfer and Innovation introduced the history of the Radziwiłł Palace in Balice.
The delegates had the opportunity to visit the Department of Reproductive Biotechnology and Cryopreservation, whose activities were presented by Jacek Jura, Ph.D., Professor of NRIAP, as well as the Department of Small Livestock Breeding, presented by Przemysław Pol, Ph.D. During the visit, which lasted several hours, the guests visited the research departments located in Aleksandrowice. The scope of work conducted at the Department of Animal Nutrition and Feed Science was presented by Prof. Małgorzata Świątkiewicz, Ph.D. and Kinga Szczepanik, M.Sc. Eng. The subject of Polish native breeds of sheep was introduced by Iga Peist, M.Sc. Eng. from the Department of Sheep and Goat Breeding.
