On 25 October 2021, the National Research Institute of Animal Production in Balice was visited by the Hungarian Minister of Agriculture István Nagy, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Grzegorz Puda with delegations, as well as Tibor Gerencsér, Consul General of Hungary in Kraków.
The meeting with the Institute’s management and employees was devoted to the conservation of farm animal genetic resources, with particular consideration of ex situ methods and the role played in this regard by the National Bank of Biological Material, as well as the use of molecular genetics to support livestock breeding.
These topics were presented by Prof. Józefa Krawczyk, PhD, Ewa Sosin, PhD Eng, Monika Trzcińska, PhD Eng, Marcin Samiec, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP, and Katarzyna Ropka-Molik, PhD, Prof. of NRIAP.
During the meeting, the Minister awarded badges of honour for their services to agriculture to the Director of the Institute Krzysztof Duda, PhD, Deputy Director for Science Prof. Sylwester Świątkiewicz, PhD and Deputy Director for Infrastructure Jakub Howaniec.
