Visit of the Student Scientific Circle PASIEKA – Balice, 9 May 2024

On 9 May 2024, the National Research Institute of Animal Production hosted a group of students and supervisors from the Student Scientific Circle PASIEKA of the Ignacy Mościcki University of Applied Sciences in Ciechanów.

During the visit to the Institute’s headquarters in Balice and the farm in Aleksandrowice, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the diverse range of work carried out and delve into the subject of breeding selected species of native breeds of farm animals.

Deputy Director for Infrastructure Tomasz Szanser welcomed the guests and presented the area of the Institute’s activities, the main research topics, scientific achievements, as well as the offer of experimental stations. Later in the meeting, Magdalena Jakiej, PhD Eng. introduced the subject of breeding native breeds of cattle, Jolanta Calik, PhD in her presentation discussed the subject of native breeds of waterfowl and landfowl, and Michał Kolasa, PhD presented the bee farm run by the National Research Institute of Animal Production.

At the end of their stay at the Institute, the guests went to the farm in Aleksandrowice, where Jolanta Calik, PhD presented flocks of native breeds of hens. The National Research Institute of Animal Production donated a set of information and dissemination materials to the PASIEKA Student Circle.
