Doctoral School of Natural and Agricultural Sciences

Please be informed that the Doctoral School of Natural and Agricultural Sciences in Kraków was inaugurated on 1 October 2019. The school is run by the Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences: the Władysław Szafer Institute of Botany (coordinating body), the Franciszek Górski Institute of Plant Physiology, the Institute of Nature Conservation, the Institute of Systematics and Evolution of Animals, as well as the National Research Institute of Animal Production

The Doctoral School educates Ph.D. students in 3 scientific disciplines: life sciences; agriculture and horticulture; animal husbandry and fisheries.

In the Doctoral School of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, research topics arising from the mission of the Institutes forming the School can be implemented. These include: biological diversity, taxonomy, ecology and evolution of plants, fungi and animals, both today and in  the past; plant and animal physiology, biochemistry and genetics; conservation of diverse species, habitats, ecosystems and processes that shape biological diversity; animal farming and breeding, cultivation of plants and factors affecting the productivity of organisms.
