The Scientific Conference as part of the Prof. Marian Różycki 14th Winter Workshop, which was originally planned for February of this year, was held on 7-10 June 2022 in Ustroń. The conference focused on “Raising and Breeding Pigs of Native Breeds in Poland – Tradition, Hobby or Business?”.
The principal organizer was the National Research Institute of Animal Production (Department of Pig Breeding), with the assistance of the West Pomeranian University of Technology (Department of Monogastric Animal Sciences with Pig Breeding Laboratory, Department of Genetics), the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Department of Animal Breeding), and the Polish Pig Breeders and Producers Association POLSUS.
The conference was attended by 85 people, including researchers from universities and research institutes dealing with pig farming and breeding, representatives of pig breeders and of numerous companies involved in pig breeding, feeding and slaughter, pork processing and trade.
The conference comprised 4 sessions, during which 5 plenary papers were presented:

One of the conference sessions included presentations by representatives of the firms supporting the organization of the conference. Six communications were presented during the last session.
All the sessions were accompanied by a lively debate, which showed that the participants were interested in the issues presented at the conference. Questions were addressed to both the speakers who presented papers and communications and to the breeders who presented their farms.
During evening dinners one could taste products and delicacies from Złotnicka White and Złotnicka Spotted pigs, originating from the Agricultural Farm of Bożena Dąbrowska and Maciej Feddek – Agricultural Retail Trade, Złotnickie Specjały Nasiadek – Agricultural Retail Trade, and Nowicki Naturalnie – Manufacturer of Traditional Cured Meat Products.
