We are pleased to inform you that by decision of the Minister of Education and Science, the National Research Institute of Animal Production was granted the highest scientific category A+ (leading level) for the years 2022-2025, in the discipline of animal husbandry and fisheries.

The Ministry of Education and Science announced the results of the evaluation of scientific entities, carried out by the Science Evaluation Committee (KEN). The National Research Institute of Animal Production received the highest category A+ (previously category B), which means that the Institute’s level of scientific research was recognized as leading on a national scale. The comprehensive evaluation of scientific entities was performed by the Science Evaluation Committee, which analysed their achievements in different disciplines for the years 2017-2021, based on the following criteria:

  1. scientific level of the activities – scientific articles, monographs, editing of monographs and authorship of chapters in monographs, invention patents,
  2. financial effects of scientific research and development work – amount of funds obtained for research projects, commercialization of research results, scientific studies commissioned by entities from outside the higher education and science sector,
  3. impact of scientific research activity on the functioning of the economy and society.

As a result of the evaluation, each rated entity was granted category A+, A, B+, B or C in a discipline, where A+ is the highest category and C the lowest (A+ – leading level, A – very good, B – acceptable with a recommendation to strengthen scientific activity, C – unsatisfactory). The category granted to a given entity determines its position in the science and higher education system as well its numerous rights, including those to grant degrees. The category is also a component part of the algorithm, which serves to calculate the amount of subsidies for maintaining the entity’s research potential. The prestigious A+ category was given to few entities among those who meet the requirements of category A as part of a given discipline. In addition, they were subjected to expert assessment, which aimed to select, from category A entities, the ones with a high standard of activities and an international scope of the research.
